Amroth to Tenby

Tuesday 26th March 2024

We had hoped for a beach stroll in Tenby yesterday, but heavy rain thwarted our plans. The rain persisted somewhat into this morning as we set out for Amroth to begin our walk along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path back to Tenby, but fortunately, the weather cleared, granting us a lovely day for walking. Our coach left us at Amroth Parish Hall, and from there, we took the Knight's Way to Amroth beach. We then proceeded towards Tenby via the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, passing Wiseman's Bridge on the way to Saundersfoot. A landslip closure forced us to detour over a steep, muddy hill instead of the tunnel. During the descent, a member of our group fell and needed to visit the hospital. In Saundersfoot, those preferring a shorter walk explored the town before taking public transport back to Tenby. The rest of us, about twenty, faced six more hills, additional detours, and plenty of mud as we completed our journey back to Tenby and finished by crossing the north shore beach.
