Despite the foreboding date and departing our hotel in the rain, the weather cleared up, and we enjoyed a pleasant day. Our coach journeyed to Windermere, where we were presented with the option of a long or short walk, both leading to the Osset Head viewpoint. The viewpoint offered stunning vistas of Lake Windermere and Ambleside. After leaving Osset Head, we descended briefly, then ascended to the walk's highest point at Applethwaite Common, greeted by more splendid views. We then made our descent back to Windermere and returned to our hotel via public transport.
